Brayden's 5th Birthday Party!!

Sorry this took so long, but *B* is officially 5 and he has been that way for over a month now.

On September 19th we had his b-day at the house and it was awesome, so check the pics and lets get this blog rolling...

Every year we have two pinata's because you know that everyone likes to hit something with a bat. The kids were up first and since I am not nice it took them a while to break it n get to the goodies inside. I really enjoy making people mis the pinata completely.

Here is Ryan taking a swing at the pinata, he missed alot thanks to me. Hee hee!! This pinata didnt bust until Jay took some swings at it. Next time we gotta put ear plugs in the adults ears so that they cant hear the rope dragging.

Here is the cakes!! We had a little cold stone ice creme cake so we could have *B* blow the candles out, then we had cold stone creamery ice cream cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. The best surprise was when Annie came with a pirat skull cake that she made. The cakes all looked good and tasted great!

We had a lot of games and prizes, but the best was the mustache that everyone could not resist putting on and posing with.

And the big winners were...First Auntie Yolanda won the guess the eyeballs in the jar game, she gues 56 and there were 60. Second is Auntie Adalay, she pulled out the red quarter from the golden sand filled tub and went home with a treasure chest filled with treasure.

Next up is the games, First Auntie Karen and Auntie Val supervised the balloon pop game. Next up is the center piece game. *A* set up nets for decor, and we had everyone throw paper airplanes into the nets to see who would win the fabulous boots filled with spam musubi making supplies.

Below is the treasure digging game, we put like 4 rolls of quaters in the golden bucket for people to dig out, an in the first pic is Papa Hiromoto, in the second my cousin Vance (who ran the game) helps out Kaeo.

Auntie Mary got us a huge cardboard and *A* painted the pirate ship on it for a bean bag toss game. Pictured here is Uncle Michael helping out with the booth.

Auntie Mary in the black hat helld down the pin the patch on the pirate game as I went back to my roots (i used to work at Tilt and my favorite thing to do was throw prizes at kids) and held the prize booth on lock.

In order to get prizes the kids had transform themselves into tattoo filled pirate...here is Uncle Micah and "Little" Sean after winning tattoos and transforming.

The highlight of the whole party was, as you can see, SNOW!!! We had 5 tons of the white stuff dropped into our front yard...It was worth every penny and lasted all day long. Check the pics of eveyone having a great time.

THAK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR COMING, AND THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED OUT!!!! Now so you know *B* does not get another party until he is ten...LOL

Angeleca's Family Reuion

It's always good to see family and trust me we see alot of family here and there, but for those family members are on the mainland it is great to see you guys. A few weeks ago *A*'s fam from Oregan came back to the place of their roots to spend some time with the rest of the fam. The day took a while to get started but once the ball got rolling, everything picked up and didn't end until the next morning (around 3 AM).

On the way out to Mokuleia we encountered some traffic and started to wonder why the heck the road was backed up. It turned out that everything was slowed down because there was a fire on the side of the highway. There was cars piled up, police and firemen were in effect, and the chopper with a bucket was flying overhead droppoing loads of water on the burnt brush and the cars below. It was pretty cool but the day was clear and no rain was expected and still the car got wet because the copter was dripping on our ride.

After getting through the mess, we ended up at mokuleia and swam for a good 2 hours as we all caught up with eachother and I met some folks for the first time. While we were at the beach *A*'s brother and I got to see a honu up close and personal, I tried to get him to touch it but he was too scared, plus I know its illegal to mess with the honu's.

Next up on the adgenda was a trip to Wahiawa for a good old fashioned family pa'ina at *A*'s auntie Gilda's house. While there we all talk more story, ate good food, posed for pictures, laughed and played, and lastly we ended the night with some karaoke. I was top scorer until *A*'s brother got up and blew my score away. Anyways there are tons of pics for you to check out so keep looking...

Been busy but...SCOOTERS ROCK!!!!

Sorry folks we just been busy lately and i been getting lazy so i haven't uploaded the pics from our camera in a while. In the mean time I thought that these vids would be entertaining because I knew that Razor scooters used to be the in thing but then they just keep on coming up worth new additions to make it cooler. The light up wheels were nice, the electric ones are dope too, but I like the spark!!!

I think i did the best one, but thas only because I am the heaviest. NOT!!! I got mad skills!!

Took her a while to get going, but she did okay...not as good as me right? She left *B* in the dust.

CHEEEEEEE HOOOOOOOO!!!!

It was a great UFC party on the 8th. BJ Penn successfully defended his lightweight title and now brings his record to 9 and 1 in the UFC lightweight class. The rest of the Hawaii fighters fought battles but Grove and Nelson could not impress the judges enough to get the decision win. Also, we got to see the horrible match up between Anderson Silva and Forrest Griffin in which Griffin got KO'ed by a straight jab and ran away destroyed mentally and physically. The UFC was event was an overall 10 because BJ Penn represented Hawaii and killed the competition.

As far as the party goes it was the biggest gathering we have ever had the house for the fights and it went well. Everyone got along, we all shared great food and when BJ Penn won the match I swear the yelling shook the ground. Check it out...
while BJ was fighting was the only time the place was quiet, but I was on the phone calling the fight with my brother who is currently in Texas and will be home for the next party on August 29th.

Suzie was a newcomer to the house and she won the first prize drawing of the night for a BJ Penn sticker pack.

Cristal was the second drawing winner and went home with a BJ Penn Lighter and Dog tag. She always gets lucky when she comes over because every time she goes home with a prize and I'm not just talking about her man Kapono.

The self proclaimed (so far its the truth) UFC quiz guru won for the second time and with a score of 8.5 out of 19 he out scored two others by a half a point to win a BJ Penn gym towel, BJ Penn Dog tag, and a BJ Penn lighter. I will get you on this quiz Sheldon.

Next, here is our new low score champ (he had 1 point) and our acting high score champ Ryan (the winner was Steph who will not be back until the next UFC). Anfernee on the left won a Pink Bunny that had a mustache and a butt hole. The winner was treated to a BJ Penn prize pack of all the Penn goodies that we had plus a water bottle.

Man it hurts me to say this but Jimbo Slice was the hard hitting UFC Undisputed Video Game champ for the second time, his training regimen included 2 hours of button mashing with 2 pound thumb weights and endless hours of online game play in order to prepare for and beat ME. Nah, Jimmy was just on point that night and I got my ass handed to me. He took home the worlds best pound for pound fighter Anderson Silva.

Sindication Grand Opening Extravaganza!!!

A little over a week ago Sindication and No Fear took over the upper level of Windward Mall. It was in part with the Project X thing that the mall is doing and it was done to celebrate Sindications Grand Opening. Sindication has finally settled down in a spot that some people may know of already because Prototype and Ainokea used to be there. They are on the upper level, right outside Macy's.
Back to the show, they had a bunch of artists from Hawaii painting, Koak, Dodge, pancho and other members of the groundUp family were all doing canvases along with TSG, Newkon, CkaweekS, Rival, and many more. There was custom bikes to admire, live DJ's spinning, free food from rainbows, live performances, tons of deals and new shirt releases from sindication X fitted and aloha family, also they re-relesed the Woes X Defend Hawaii shirt in new colorways. Some dope stuff went on and everyone had a good time. Congrats Sindication and was good to meet new artists there and say hi to the old friends that we already know. B's First Day Of Elementary School!!

Man, how time does fly! *B* is now in kindergarten and *A* and I are so proud of him. It was a long wait but the first morning of *B*'s new elementary life has gone and past. We woke up at six because he was so excited and got all his stuff ready. Weeks before we went shopping for supplies and new clothing. All that work just so he can go to the same elementary school I went to. I hope that all my teachers are not there because I know I was a terror to most of them. Anyways, he is doing fine in his new surroundings, but you won't believe how much stuff they got the little ones doing now, they have to learn 100 site words (words they know just by seeing it), they get like 4 pages of work to do every night, they got a bunch of math and a whole lotta reading. Check out how happy he is and till this day he is still excited to get up and get to school.

Beach Day!!

A couple weeks ago we had an all out beach day experience with some family friends. We went to our favorite spot to swim i.e. SHARKS COVE. It really is the perfect kids beach. You have a bunch of rocks and tide pools to explore, you got beautiful sites under water while you snorkle and there is really no current to worry about. We all were there until around 1:30 then we got hungry and headed out looking for the famous white Giovanni's shrimp truck.

To tell you the truth, this was my first time actually eating at a shrimp truck.

I never jnew what I was missing until I had the chance to sample some spicy shrimp, garlic shrimp, and a hot dog. There is a reason why they say no refunds is because while eating it I was sweating and coughing since the red pepper flakes, siracha and other spices were hard to handle, but i made it through the whole plate and it actually was really good.

I also tried the garlic houtdog because *B* could not finish his, but it is not great. The hot dog is just a costco dog cooked in the garlic oil, not too special.

Lastly, since *A* could'nt finish her plate I even tried the famous garlic shrimp and I gotta say it is shrimpy, garlicy, oily, crispy goodness all together.

After eating we of course had to wash our hands and as we went to the restrooms we discovered a hidden gem in the bushes...

thas right Kaiser is back there so no worry if you order the spicy shrimp and pass out you will be taken care of.

we just thought it was funny that they could put a restroom sign on the door but they had to draw on the guys and girls.

Since we were already close to Laie we decided to head there and go to see the giant Mo'o in the water. It was the L*A*B's first time seeing the sight and it was spectacular. The water was clear, the wind was blowing strong and it took a while but we all were able to see why the rock in the water has such a great story behind it. After snapping some pics we all still had one more spot to go, can you guess where?

That's right, we went to haleewa for some shaveice. It was late so Matsumoto's was just too packed and since Aoki's was not too bad we went there. This was my first time tasting it and to tell you the truth I didn't care for it as much as I enjoy Matsumoto's, so net time I will wait for the Matsumoto's goodness. Well thas it for now but you know up next is the UFC 101 review.

Faith's 6th Birthday Party

This is pretty late but Happy B-day Faith!!!

Ryan got a spot at Mid Pacific Country Club in Lanikai and *A* was in charge of the decorations and other party stuff. It all came together well and the country club looked fabulous. The theme was Hana Montana (as you could see from the pics) and we all had a blast. It was a wonderful event and can't wait to do it again next year. We swam, busted open a pinata, ate burgers and hotdogs, and a stupendous time. By the end of it, the kids were runnin on "E" just like the adults, and I was bright red from spendin too much time swimming. Well, Happy B-day Faith and see you and your daddy later.

Wierd, Crazy, UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE!!!

Have you ever had such a messed up and wierd day that you just can't believe what the heck just happened?

Today was that day for us, so let me explain...

First off it was hot all day and we were just worn out from going beach on Friday. Next, we get a call from our fellow L*A*B friend Ryan, he called to tell us that he broke his finger while cleaning up his car. He slipped and the seat from his van fell on his hand and next thing you know he ended up at the emergency room. After all this we decided to go to D & B's with Ryan, Ruthie and Faith. On the way to D & B's our windshield got hit with a rock in the right spot and now there is a crack in it. While at D & B's we saw a little boy drinking Budweiser and a lady that must have been at least 7-8 months pregnant drinking a beer. This was not all... As we were going to get on the Pali, around 10PM, we saw bubbles flying in the road, and the person blowing the bubbles was an old lady around that had to be at least 70 years of age. Then after dropping off Ruth and Faith we were driving on Maluniu St. in Kailua and in front of a church was a shirtless guy in shorts chillin and surfing the web in the dead of night. Lastly, to top it all off we almost got hit by some guy trying to make a U turn right in front of the street. DAMN AM I GLAD THE DAY IS DONE AND WE MADE IT HOME SAFE!!! A B-Day and Fights...Life is good

WHAT A PARTY IT WAS!!! This past Saturday was the epic event UFC 100, but before I go into that, I gotta talk about our little Faith because it also was her 6th B-day. In honor Faith turning 6, we put up some decorations, ate cake, had a pinata, and set up the pool so her and the other kids could just rule the back yard while we watched the fights. It was great so check the pics...

Well as you can see the kids were pretty busy and they all had great time. Happy Birthday Faith and we will see you this weekend at your second B-day celebration...

Well, if you dont already know the UFC100 event was a super, spectacular, colossal, stupendous, epic moment in MMA history. Who would have thought that it would make it this far and get so big (MEEEEEEEE, I DID). The party was great, we had good food, a great quiz for people to take, and we had a bunch of other surprises for our guests.

Anyhow, it was great, Brock Lesnar humiliated Mir by pummeling him with the boulders he carries around, and then he embarressed himself by bringing out the WWE side of him and just being a heel(badguy in wrestling). I don't think he was that bad but go search up the fight and wait until the end to see how he went up in Mir's face after winning, dissed a sponser and some other stuff.

Next up GSP won (Again), he faught the fight the way he needed to and the pittbull could not do anything. I don't really care for GSP, so not much more to say.

The greatest fight of the night was Dan Henderson and Michael Bisbing because Hendo F-IN Knocked him out with a right and then while Bisbing was sleeping on the ground he jumped on him and gave him a huge forearm to the head before he got stopped. You gotta look that one up because its amazing.

The rest of the fights were good too, Fithch won by decision (expected). The Japanese fighter Akiyama made his debute and was very impressive. The announcers and other people say it was a questionable decision win, but you gotta watch it and see that he ran the fight from beginning til end. Belcher had no chance and now I cant wait to see what Akiyama will do next in the middle weight division. Jon Jones won his fight by submission and the hall of famer Mark Coleman ran through Stephan Boner to score a decision win.

After the fights it was time to tally up the scores on the cards as usual. AND OUR FIRST EVER SECOND TIME CHAMPION IS....
Thats right! The belt is back home and will be up for grabs on August 8th because BJ Penn is fighting. *A* is ready to take on all challengers especially because she is backed by...
Brock Lesnar. He showed up before his fight went on and then came back after to go home with our champion.

The second belt for the lowest score went to our newest party goer Brandon. With a score of 0.0 he laid claim to the loser honor and took home Frank Mir and the belt. He was in great spirits and had good time over here so we will see him again on August 8th when he defends his title.

Lastly, after his fight was over, the guy I cant stand showed up and just took over all the ladies as he stood there posing...
What is it about gay guys getting girls? Nah it not certain that GSP likes sausage, we already know he does not like manapua (look it up).

I was so glad that *A*'s brother Sheldon won the quiz and took GSP home for air soft target practice...

After all was said and done, the Undisputed tournament started and the winner of it was the big guy Jimbo...

Happy 4th of July!!

Before I met *A*, the forth of July was just another day, but after meeting her and even more so after having our son *B*, we really started to celebrate the U.S. birthday holiday. Nowadays, we head out to Wahiawa and make it an all day celebration. All the kids play, we BBQ, pass around drinks, eat a whole lot, pop fireworks and just talk story with eachother. Always good times when you mix all the previously mentioned with family. Check the pics and we hope that your 4th was as good as ours. C-ya until next time...

Bon Dance!!

Always a good time when we head out to Wahiawa for some dancing at the local Hongwanji. It has been an L*A*B family tradition for years and before that it was *A*'s families tradition to go to the annual bon dance at Wahiawa Hongwanji. We started out by visiting *A*'s grandfather who left us last year, and then we headed on over to the Maries catering stand to get some food. For $6 buck, we got two scoops rice, mac salad, fish, noodles, and sweet-n-sour spare ribs...was so ono. Next came the dancing and this was the first year that we didn't just dance to one song. *B* and his uncle wanted to keep on dancing so we all tried it out and although we wernt as graceful, we still did an awesome job and had a great time actin a fool as went around in the circle. Lastly the lion came out to give everyone good luck and ate *B*'s uncles hand. I never used to go these kind of things but since going I realize they are always fun, so support your local Hongwanji and go dancing people!!

We are so proud of him and cant wait to see how he will do in elementry next year. Before *A* starts crying again, we just want to thank everyone that came to support *B* on his special day and thanks Papa and Grandma V. for putting together a little party for him afterward. Happy Father's Day!

Sorry so late on the posting, just got lazy and we are enjoying the summer. Anyways, for this past fathers day *A* took our good friend and fellow L*A*B do-gooder Ryan to Burgers on Edge. The burgers were excellent and Bruce and Erica from S.O. were right on their review they did a while back. We were the first customers of the day and it took us about 15 minutes to decide what we wanted. After hearing about the burger they made with foie gras on it from 2-j my cousin I had to try it and it was worth it. *A* got the thanksgiving on a bun, *B* and his fellow L*A*B partner in crime Faith got kids meals and the other father of the day got the edge burger with bacon....yummy. If your out and in the area of the super safeway (Kapahulu) then got and check out Burgers on the edge and spend the $20 for the perisian burger that has foie gras on it.

Beach day for the LAB Family!!!

There's nothing better than going to the beach on a hot day, right? We love to do it and in order for us to go it takes like a day to prepare. We gotta pack all our towels, beach toys, a canopy, the sun screen, drinks, and we gotta make a bunch of spam musubi. Well, we headed out at like 630 in the morning becasue we gotta have a good spot down at sharks cove. On the way to the north side of the island we took some nice pics from the car...

me driving fast, there were no tourists slowing me down, so I was able to go an average of 45mph.

Sharks cove is our favorite place to go, it is shallow enough for *B* and there is great snorkeling for *A* and I. We always have a good time there and this time *B* was just havin a ball all by himself while he tried to "Surf" on a boogie board. We had a great spot right by the shore and we also found some dinosaur bones...

Well, since we were already down the north shore side, you know we had to head down to Haleewa and get some shave. On the way we noticed that Waimea was super calm and wanted to stop off there, but of course you know that there is never parking over there in the afternoon.

We made it to Matsumotos and after a long wait and much reading of the "How to order shave ice sign", we got the goods, drove home through Wahiawa, and ended what could be called one of the greatest days of the year for the fam.

Everybody needs a break every now and then, so treat yourself and go around the island. It will relax you and I'm sure it will remind you why we are so lucky to live in Hawaii.

Good Fights...Good Night!!!

It was a great fight party last weekend!! We had *A*'s cousins come down, my brother in laws and friends come by the house for some bar burgers, chili and rice, pau hana drinks and of course the Ultimate Fighting Championship 98.

UFC 98 was not bad, but it was disappointing. The L*A*B really wanted Rashad Evans to win but he ended up getting K.O.'ed by Lyoto Machida in the second round. *B* was devastated and started to cry when he saw that happen. The rest of the fights shown went to decision and were not that great, but Matt Hughes pulled out a desicision victory over Matt Sera and the "Muscle Shark", Sean Sherk got out boxed and lost his fight (why would a wrestler try to box?). All in all the fights were better than the last UFC we watched and everyone had a good time.

WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION!!! *A*'s brother Sheldon kick all our butts when he picked his fighters and ended up with seven points out of a possible 10. When interviewed he said that he is ready to defend his title at UFC 100 in July and is willing to take on all challengers.
Here he is with his prize, a guitar hero air guitar, this so he has his own theme music when he walks around in front of the miror with his belt.

We also have a new low scoring champion...and with a scroe of 1 point Jermaine was the winner.
He too said he welcomes all challengers at UFC 100 and no who faces him he wont back down.

After the fights it was time to hook up the PS3 that *A* got me just so I could play the UFC Undisputed video game. We had a little tournament and within 2 hours Mista Justin racked up the most wins. With a record of 6 and 3 he became our first ever UFC Undisputed prize winner.

Congrats to Kawika and his band AllNatro on creating the supafly riddum reggae album Onward (available at Jelly's, Hungry Ear, ALLNATRO.COM, and other places). To celebrate this bomb ass release they are having a party at Pipeline tomorrow and along with them there is gonna be more reggae rockers performing, so check it out. Plus there will be live art being done by the amazing Newkon, so you know its gonna be a good show. Also gotta say HAPPY LATE B-DAY to the man, the myth, the legend LOFA, yessir mister sexy beast is a year older and has been for a few days. To celebrate he is havin another dope B-boy and Blackbook battle that benefits GBC Youth Ministries. Thanks for caring Lofa and sorry we can't make it (you know why), but everyone else can so go check it out and enjoy the show.

Man the keiki's are just too cute when they are young. *B*'s school had their annual summer preformance and the kids rule the school. Unfortunately I was suffering from a throat infection and was not feeling up to standing in the sun for 2 hours, so I slept, but *A* went and she said it was great. It's moments like these that bring back those elementry memories and the reality that your child is growing up. Well since I didn't go I can't actyually give you the recap but *B* I can say that *B* went on stage and shook his booty and sang softly because he a shy guy. Here is some pics that *A* got...

By the time *B*'s performance was done, I was feeling a bit better so I showered up got dressed and headed out to p/u *A* and *B* from the school. I got them and we were off to Pali Lanes to for some bowling. Pali Lanes is right accross from Boots and Kimo's in Kailua and if you wana bowl there you better go soon because it has been known for a while now that Pali Lanes might be closing its doors soon. The place hasn't changed since forever, it still looks the same and brings back memories of me and the boys riding our bikes there to play video games, sneek cigarettes from the dispenser there, and eat burgers and fries. The L*A*B's family friend Ryan and his daughter Faith joined us for a game. Even with the bumpers I can't score high. Ryan won, *A* came in second, *B* came in third, I was Forth but felt bad because Faith was last and I only beat her by like 10 pins. My score was 63, so you do the math. Two weeks ago I decided to take *B* out and run down to Aikahi, so he could have some fun at the newly renovated Aikahi Elementry School playground. The playground is dope, you walk up and are confronted with a long wall that has dragon scales on it and as you follow it you end up at the head of the dragon. Then there is all kine stuff to climb, coo bridges to cross, a turtle to climb on and slide on, stuff to spin on, it's just amazing!!!

Just as we were havin a good time *B* goes to climb up some steps and he trips. BOOM!!! His chin split open a bit. There was blood drippin and so I grabed him, layed him down in the wagon, cleaned it out and checked to see how bad the cut was. It really was not that big, maybe a quarter inch but I could see that it was torn apart so much that he needed stitches. I called up his Papa for a ride and we rushed up to Castle Medical Centers Emergency Room. *B* was doing real good by then because he cried enough down at the park and on the way to the hospital.

He met alot of nice doctors and nurses and got treated like a prince in the hospital. The staff there was so nice that *B* actually had a great time getting FOUR stitches in his chin. Well check the pics and just so you know, the stitches are already out and *B* has made a full recovery.

During the same day and since he suffered so much *B*, his Papa and Grandma, and I decided to go to the newly renovated Bay View Mini Golf Course. Go check it out! The surfaces are all returfed, there is new paint on everything, its clean, its fun, and it don't stink no more or have all kine sticks and fallen leaves blocking you from getting a hole in one. When we went they were still workin on the lower 18 holes, but the top was fun. *B* got like 3 hole in ones and finished with a 53, but in the end Grandma won the whole shabang. I think the price for 18 holes was seven dollars a person and you can only go in groups of five or something. Oh, well go check it out and have a good time before or after you go down the road and eat genki sushi or shop at windward mall, or come by our place for a UFC party. Heres some pics...enjoy

My co-workers and I went to Krazy Karaoke to celebrate Lisa and Schel's tickle my pickle bachelorette party. There was nothing we left out, we had blow up dolls, blow up penises and even penis pasta.....YUM!! Lisa and Schel didn't want a stripper so Melissa and I had a idea to have her dress up and act like a male stripper!! My friend Dustin was in town from taking a trip around the continental U.S. and the only thing he missed that was in Hawaii was CURRY HOUSE, so we went to the one accross from pearlridge shopping center. This was our first time sitting there and eating and it was *B*'s and *A*'s first time enjoying the succulent and savory taste of the Curry House. Not much to say other than if you want great curry covered meats, fish, poultry and some veggies then you probably already know that the Curry House is the place to get it. A couple of weeks ago was the I love Kailua party. Since I was born and raised in the town of Kailua you know I had show some love to the surroundings that made me and is making the rest of my family who they are today. Kailua is not filled with the nicest people but still in my eyes and mind I dont want to live anyplace else. You have everything you need close to you, you are close to everywhere on the island (except Kapolei), and its just damn good to live in Kailua. Well the town party is the only time you can walk in the middle of the street and not get busted (just like waikiki hoolaulea) so you gotta go. There is food to be bought with scrips, rides for the keiki, and you can see almost every store that Kailua has all in one block. So next year I will let you all know in advance and we can all go, pack a water jug, put on sunblock, wear you I Love Kailua pin, and enjoy all that Kailua has to offer.

The other week we finally went to Target in Salt lake. That place is f-in huge!! While walking around stuffing things into our cart we got separated in the endless aisles within the monstrosity that is Target. We even had to call eachother up on our cell phens to get back together and in the end we spent well over a benji. Thats what happens when you go to those super stores, you see things you do need and you think you need and out of sheer convinience you give in and just pay up in the end.

After the 3 hour shopping experience we all were hungry. My parents and the rest of us decided to try this plac Lilikoi Bar and Grill, its across from circuit city pearl ridge, and in the same building as makino chya. The place was a bar in disguise, the tables were covered in clean white cloths but the chairs were kind of beaten up. The service was friendly but it did take a while and you could tell they were inexperienced. The food was damn good except *B* chicken fingers, which actually turned out to chicken katsu cut up in strips. Anyways I bet the place would be good to go and hang out on a friday and pau hana. *L* has left

TSG art show and Munny Show

Man the art world has been busy avoiding us lately but two Sundays ago (19th) and this past friday the 24th we were able to check out some stuff that was happening at Pearlridge.

On Sunday we stopped by the mall to pick up some stuff from one of our favorite stops in Pearlridge, thanks as always to Christina, and while there we went to Prototype to see who was apart of the munny decorating party they were holding. To our surprise we ran into Aaron Lee A.K.A. Cryptoking. He was there with some of his students participating and his students came up with some dope stuff. It was good to be able to see fresh new munny designs and to catch up with Aaron and all his happenings. A high five and an Attaboy to Aaron visual arts students and their designs and big up to Mr. Mycryptonauts. Well heres some pics...

As I said before James A.K.A. The Starfish Guy (TSG) was having another showing of his work and along with him was Lost clothing artist Pinky Taylor. TSG was there to show of his new clothing designs in collaboration with Alpine Indy, the designs are fresh and ladies they definately will get you some attention and complements to match. While there you could get custom trucker hats from both TSG and Pinky, they still have some in the store for sale, and I got one and have been wearing it everyday since. Well not much more to say other than ladies go you some TSG designed gear and fellas go get a custom TSG or Pinky Taylor cap. Thanks Pipedreams for putting on the event, James was good catching up wit you man, stay on the hustle and hope all work out for you man.

I have said it before and I'll say it again...*B* is too damn spoiled.

The weekend after our first Easter, we were at it again but this time it was with my fam. The clan came by for a llate lunch and of course brought with them too much food but I wasn't gonna complain because as you can see I like to eat. Not too much went on other than catching up with the rest of the fam and the highlight was not just *B* but my bro was back from Kuwait (his forth tour). For those that wanted to catch up wit my bro don't worry you never miss anything because he is still a dick but he is just a little bit nicer plus he'll be back in like 3 months.

Anyways there was not much that went on, *B* dyed somemore eggs and went hunting, the big kids got to go hunting for an egg too, and then there was egg fighting. As always it was a time of good food, good fun, and a bunch of Japanese people that talk like they was Portagee. Good fun.

a late Happy Easter!! part one

Easter was alittle over two weeks ago, so why are we bloggin this? We are bloggin because we enjoy showing how we celebrate stuff and enjoy talking about the tradition that is Easter in the islands. Now I am sure we all know the religious meaning behind the whole Easter weekend so I won't waste time talking about how Jesus died for us and was resurected.

Now its time to show how the Hiromoto clan does easter. The weekend of Easter the *A*, *B*, and I head out to Wahiawa and spend the night over at *A* mom's place. This all so that we can prepare for the feast and of course we gotta dye eggs. *B* dyed the most cuz he was just droppin em in all kine colors and stuff, was so cute and it brought back memories of how me and my bro would fight for extra eggs and on purpose he would save some so that when I was done he would still be dyeing eggs and I would get all jealous and stuff. Oh, well boys will be boys and *B* is my boy.

After a full night of preparing we headed down to ali'i beach park in Haleewa to meet up wit da rest of the fam. Lucky we got there early because by the time we left the whole place was packed and we had squeeze our way outta there. While there we of course swam, fished, hunted for eggs, ate a whole bunch of food (you know we love to eat), laughed, caught up with the rest of the fam, and got really sun burnt, I mean we were in the sun from 6am to 4pm. As usual it was great, *B* of course got spoiled, as did the rest of the rugrats, and everyone left happily ever after.

Oh yeah, that Sunday was also Zoe's and Auntie Gilda's B-Day, so Happy Birthday. Well check the pics of one of our Easters cuz as you might know already we celebrate the big holidays at least two times a year. *L* has left the building and shall return with more late Easter goodness.

Well this post is just to say happy earth day to the world. It is never too late to go green or light green. Here are some tips for going green in your own home that I think we all can do...

-Don't leave your computer on -- put it to sleep. The resultant energy savings call really add up, plus it will prolong your monitor and cpu's lives.

-Line dry your close when possible. Yes, clothes dryers are much more convenient and time saving. But if you're motivated, your line dried clothes will last longer (less wear in the drying process) and smell fantastic.

-Wash your clothes with cold water. 90% of the energy consumed by a washing machine that is on a warm or hot setting is used in heating up the water temperature *before* it even goes into the machine. Solution: wash your clothes with cold water. If you by a cold water detergent, you'll have the best results. And yes, hot water does clean clothes more effectively. So don't get so dirty :)

-Unplug appliances and chargers when not in use. It's estimated that an average of 5% of your total household energy use is from appliances and chargers that are plugged in but not being used. Anything that has a little light or a little digital clock is drawing power. Unplug and save!

I'd keep going on and on but I don't want to bore you with my go green rant. Also a good way to be green everyday is to use those recyclable bags when you go shopping, we do our part when we shop. You can get some super good and super cute reusable bags from Bruce and Erica at Split Obsession. They have the Len and Jen reusable bags that are durable, stylish and compact when not in use.

Anyways, hope everyone makes some time to go green for mother nature, I know we want the Earth to be in great condition for the future generations that will be around to enjoy what we are trying to preserve. Till next time *L* has left the building but see ya soon.

Catching Up, THE COUNTER

SO DAMN AWESOME!!! That phrase describes the experience you get at "The Counter". Located on the outter part of Kahala Mall, next to Whole Foods, It is always busy and has endless burger combination's to satisfy all appetites. We arrived there around 1130 and had to wait around 5 minutes for a seat. Immediately your are handed what looks like a survey, but this is actually your ordering menu. You then check off the burger size, type of burger (Turkey, Veggie, Beef), bun (Wheat, English Muffin, Standard Bun), and all your fixins. There are regular toppers and gourmet toppers, a bunch of different cheeses, and a whole lotta sauces to choose from. After you create your burger or choose one from the menu, you just hand the paper over to the server and the rest is history. While there you gotta enjoy the sweet potato fries and the fried dill pickels, both are completmeted with a dipping sauce that is magnificent. The service is speedy, unless you get a 1 pound burger like I did, the burger are cooked to perfection, the price is much higher than your average burger joint but its worth it. All in all you gotsta get out there and eat at The Counter. Check the pics...

Playing Catch Up, Relaxin at a PUB

Sorry it has been a while since the last update, but we been busy with party planning school and preparing for *B*'s move to elementry (he's growing up, yay). In the mean time we finally made it to The Kailua Pub, of course as the name says it's in Kailua accross from Boston's Pizza and in the same parking lot as Blockbuster Video, WOW. We went for lunch and it was a great chill out session since things have been kinda crazy lately. The service was as we expected, it was excellent, but this was probably because at 2pm there was not much people eating lunch and people were not quite yet ready to "Pau Hana". The food was your basic bar fixins all of which was good but to me was nothing special, we had buffalo wings, fries, some sliders, and we also had a ceaser salad. All the food was good but not spectacular and since it is a pub, we each had something to drink. I tried an Irish Red and a Amber Ale, both were great tasting velvety texture and very smooth going down. *A* had a margarita which she said tasted good but she still thinks that Chili's make a better one. Keep in mind that they are not just limited to bar food, they make pastrami sandwiches, bigger burgers, and some other stuff that sounded good on the menu, all in all our rating is like a 7.5. So if you are in Kailua and just want to relax for llunch stop by the Pub and I am sure that you wont regret going, plus the prices are good so go there and get a bite to eat and somthing to sip on. *L* has left the building but there is still much more to come....UFC 97, a new TSG show, The Counter, The Easter Twins, and so on

Weekend part 3...WEEZY BABY, Keri hilson and more

Man, finally its concert time!! The concert was one of the best ever, we was in row 12 so the pics never come out that great but the energy that was in the air while all the performers was on stage was totally worth the 80 dollars a ticket. First to perform was the new girl power group Electric Red. They did a good job of getting the crowd hyped for Keri Hilson. We enjoyed their song "You aint gettin no P", and they were really workin the stage, kind of reminded us of danity kane, but I think Danity is way hotter.

Next up Keri Hilson came on stage and her first song was "Knock you Down", this brought the house down when KANYE WEST came out started to rap his part of the song. After Kanye left the stage the crowd was all hyped up and she proceeded to demand our attention. Damn she is good and her album aint too bad neither. Go cop that ish, cuz the lady deserves it and she has it all, good lyrics, the backing of some of the biggest names in the industry, and she is beutiful.

Lastly the GREATEST RAPPER ALIVE took the stage. His set was like an hour and a half long. He controlled the crowd like an army general, he made people scream and shout on cue, hushed the crowd when necessary and when he said put your hands up everyone did as they were told. The man really is an entertainer and he is very thankful for his fans as he said throughout the show, he spits dope rhymes, plays guitar, and throughout the show made ya laugh. He even brought along all his artists from Young Money entertainment. If you didnt go then you really missed out man, the show was so good that after it was over we wanted more and we were too dang tired to go out. Lil Wayne is the man and he deserves respect, so check the pics and we will see you all next time.

WEEKEND TO REMEMBER PART 2...random pics and Longhi's

Well before we post up the pics and review of the Lil Wayne and Keri Hilson concert, I thought we would share some random stuff we did and saw while in Waikiki. This will only take a moment, so check the pics.

Safety first.

This was like an art in motion show, but it was lame the guy barely sprayed and he was busy getting lights to flash while dancing to some techno music.

1 dollar to take a pic with a shabby lookin elmo...ridiculous but worth it when you see *B* smiling.

Before the concert we had to eat, so my parents wanted to take us to Longhi's. I first thought Longhi's? I never heard of it, but apparently it is a pretty decent place. Well, we went to Ala Moana and we couldn't figure out how to get to the place. We had to ask for directions at one of the information booths.

We finally found the place (go in back of Banana Republic and take the elevator up). It was nice, the view was good (you look out at Ala Moana Beach Park), food was magnificent, all items are ala carte, food was a bit pricey but you do get what you pay for, lastly service was okay but it took a little while for our waiter to warm up to us. All in all if you are looking for a romantic fine dinning experience Longhi's is a good choice, so get your other half, find a sitter if you need and head down to Ala Moana and check out Longhi's. On my scale of one to ten Longhi's gets a 8 out of 10 because although the food was excelent, it did take a while for the service to warm up to us.

A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER Part 1

Big things happend this past weekend, so be prepared for a bunch of updates coming soon. If you are in Waikiki, are going down to the beachwalk, feelin hungry and don't want to wait forty five minutes to eat at the Yardhouse, then make reservations and go to PF Chang's. The food, service, and atmosphere there is amazing and won't hurt your pockets too much. We made reservations and were seated right away, immediately after sitting our waiter took our drink orders and gave us some appetize suggestions. The waiter was right because the appetizer's were great and left us room to finish the main dishes that we ordered. As we were finishing each plate of food our waiter was right there to clear our table and as soon as we were done with the appetizers, our main course followed. We ordered four main dishes, each came with a bowl of rice and each dish was excellent. By the end of the meal all of us felt satisfied and not over stuffed. Like I said before the food was amazing, everything was not greasy, had an extremely light taste with a heavy dose of flavor. Theres is not much more to say because it was just so damn ono. Go check it out, I am sure you will not be disappointed. Here's some pics...

Shrimp with melon (sounds weird but everything complimented eachother) and candies walnuts, and crispy honey chicken...*B* ate most of the chicken and then played with the white puff noodles by making a white mustach on his face.

Lamb and mongolion beef, the lamb didn't taste like lamb and it was so tender it melted in your mouth, the beef was f-in awesome nuff said

After eating chinese we went Italian and got some gelato at Mondo gelato right across the street. MMM MMM Good. Very refreshing and flavorful, way better than yogurt (sorry yogurtland, we still love you). I had the hazelnut and greentea, the hazelnutit was made with real hazelnuts and soymilk, you couldn't taste the soy, and the greentea tasted like I was drinking a cup of the potent japanese tea with everybite. Once again if you are in the area go get you some of this delicious and pretty healthy treat. I wish we had more pics but by the time I realized that we should photograph the gelato, we all had already finished. NEW CARS!!! Tradition

This past weekend was the annual new car show at the convention center. It is a family tradition to go every year and sit in the cars we wish we could afford, so this year there was not much difference. The only thing that was not like all the other years was that my mom's and pop's couldn't go with us this year. Anyways the show was a bit dissappointing, they never even had the new Camero, Land Rover was not there and my I couldn't see my favorite car the Evolution because Mitsubishi was not in the show. There was some cool stuff, the new Nissan GTR (American version of the skyline), some nice custom scions, the audi that was in ironman (the car had carbon fiber sidings), some bentleys, and other stuff. Here's some pics so if you didn't go be ready for next year and go check it out, its always good fun to window shop sometimes...*L* has left the building, but up next yardhouse review, a weekend in waikiki, and LIL WEEZY or Young Carter or Weezy F or Lil Wayne...well you get the drift we are all pretty excited for this comming weekend.

On the way back home from visiting my grandma in Aiea, we felt like getting some shave ice so we headed on over to the Ice Garden in Aiea shopping center. It has been such a long time since we went there, we took like 20 minutes to figure out our orders. I mean the choices are off the charts, you can put mochi balls, chocolate syrup, peanuts, oatmeal, icecream, azuki beans, flan, all kine stuff and assorted flavors together on some real fine shave ice. To sum it all up, IT WAS GOOOOOOOD. Well if you in da area drop by and try the place out, I am sure that you won't be dissappointed. *L* has left the building til next time around.

Man its been a while since we seen Christina in forever, but the other day we finally made it down to see the new spot she has at Pearlridge. Now it is no longer the Exclusive shop she used to run, but the spot she has seems to be way better. She now gets to focus on building the brand that started a ladies/girl power movement in Hawaii...ikandy. Don't get me wrong, I know there are other ladies brands in Hawaii, but aren't I entitled to my opinion?
Now back to the topic, the ikandy x Exclusive kiosk is located in the uptown portion of Pearlridge, near L'mour Nail & Beauty Salon, across from Honolua Surf Co. Ladies, you need to check her out, she got the nice accesories, great bags, and of course the dope ikandy gear that she creates. While we were there *A* got this cute necklace wit a studded out cupcake on it, I totally dig it.
Anyways, congrats Christina on the new spot, the new life and famly member coming, and for being able to "Do what you love and love what you do." After meeting with the UFC Champ, we headed home and cooked up a "Krazy 8" theme dish. I mad calamari (8 Legs), 16oz. of pasta (Divisible by 8), and used 16 ingredients (Divisible by 8). I didn't win... :(

We did have a good time at the 808 Orbit Forum Launch Party.

Big thanks to Haynmade and all the sponsers and supports of the party. We showed up late but were greeted pleasently, there was good food and good people all around. It so cool to see that the H.I. vinyl world actually has faces to put to screen names.

We saw the usual crowd, HI DEZ and CHONI!!! We were happy to meet new people and it felt good to not be the only one that knew what a dunny is for a change. I'M NOT CRAZY FOLKS!!!

Anyways, there was tons of food, prizes, and games. We played BUZZ on XBOX in teams, big ups hayn for setting it up the way you did. There was raffle drawings, we won some Ghost Town toys, Woebot prints, Cryptonauts, stickers, and more. The party was off the chain and if you went then you got a mix tape with a secret track that would prepare you for the scavenger hunt 808Orbit is launching. We were ready to participate but the first ten things are already claimed, so good luck in finding the other 20, but KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED!!!

WE GOT BEAT on the 21st!!!

Usually our earliness pays off and we are the first to stand in line for pics and signatures at meet and greets, but we made some people mad when we ended up being the first in line for the BJ Penn signing at Nordstrom (check our previous post).

We got to Windward Mall around 845 and expected to pull up in front of the No Fear store and be the first to stand in line and meet Rashad Evans (UFC Lightheavy weight Champ), but we were wrong. As we walked up and sat down someone else was there, so being the nice people we are we started to conversate with the dude in front of us. He said that when his wife saw that we were the first in line to meet BJ Penn, she got mad and forced him to wake up and get down to the Windward side early, so they could be first. We never wanted to make peeps mad, but I guess now we got some competition when it comes to signings for fighters. I know the L*A*B is game, so BRING IT ON!!! Oh yeah, while we were there they ended up having a contest to get pulled to the front, and it just so happend that the guy ended up right in front of us...We were happy he won and its all good No Fear!!

Anyways, meeting Rashad actually made me like the guy. He rolled up holding his newborn baby and along side him was his wife and big ass bodyguard. The dude was coo, he asked what we wanted him to sign on some UFC gloves, and when *B* walked up to him, he automatically picked *B* up and posed for a picture. Now I really want him to beat Machida. I also asked him, "Are you mad that you gotta beat Machida, instead of fighting Quinton?"

He replied, "Nah, it doesn't matter."

Then as we were done he said to me, "I really want to beat Quinton's ASS!"

I was happy to hear that, so GO RASHAD!!! UFC 99 will be held at the house, so be ready with your picks if you come by for the party.

After the signing we headed down stairs to view the live art going on courtesy of Sindication. We caught the beginning, but never made it to the end...we were dissappointed that we didn't see Libra and the other artists finsh their pieces. Also as we were standing around checking out the art action, we ran into The Starfish Guy (TSG) and the dude that printed the Pono Wear design that I was sporting. Was good to catch up with TSG, the dude still makin moves five legs at a time, YOU THE MAN HOMIE!!!

The Jungle, And Some Shrimp At Ala Moana

After meeting BJ Penn, since we were at Ala Moana we decided to walk around. *B* was so good at the signing he deserved a treat, so we took him to Thinker Toys but he didn't want anything, so we ended up at Jungle Fun.

The jungle themed arcade has the market cornered in Ala Moana because it is the only place in the mall that is made to entertain children, kids love playing games, and they love getting prizes. It just does not seem to be worth actually going, I mean for starters you have to deal with the huge crowd of local and foreign people, both of which are rude. Next, the prices for tokens to play the games are ridiculous, you get 2 tokens per dollar instead of the usual 4. Lastly, some of the games are overpriced too, I mean skeeball is one token (remember you only get 2 per dollar), but I remember that at every arcade its one token (usually you get 4 tokens for a dollar), and air hocky is 2 tokens (1 dollar) where as usually it is 2-3 tokens (4 tokens for a dollar). Oh well, I know all this must sound crazy, but it just bugs me, I used to work at Tilt so I guess thats why I get irritated. Anyhow, I can't say nuthing because they still got that awesome jungle gym for the kids to climb in and *B* enjoyed the place so overall the L*A*B gives Jungle Fun 1.5 thumbs up and 1.5 thumbs down.

*B* ended up winning the game but I gave him chance so it doesn't count...YOU WANA CHALLENGE!!

With our jungle outting concluded, we got hungry, so we decided to run and run, and just run to Bubba Gumps for a bite to eat. I'm sure many of you have eaten there already, but this was only our second time there and it was way better than the first time. The sevice was excellent, everything came out quick so the food was still hot, the food was some good eating and of course the beer was very enjoyable, the prices weren't that bad, and lastly we actually made it to dessert and it was delicious. We also got our table pretty quick eventhough they told us we had to wait 20 minutes, we only waited ten and then we were seated, plus with all the Gump memorabilia you always have something to look at. It was an early morning start for the L*A*B fam this past Saturday the 14th. We got up at 6AM, got ready and headed out at about 7AM. Finally we arrived and to our surprise there really was no one around at alamoana. We walked over to Nordstrom, hoping that we would be first in line to see BJ Penn (not Tokidoki, who also was there that day), and luckily we were first. Everyone was runin on hawaiian kine time and no one showed up until 945AM.
While we were waiting alone outside, the nordstrom staff kept checking on us to make sure we were okay, and then at 930AM they escorted us to the area that the line was going to form. Well we waited and then they brought us cookies form the cafe, bottles of water, a coloring book for *B*, and a balloon for him too. The service of Nordstrom is F-in amazing!!!
Anyways, they brought BJ Penn down to promote the RVCA clothing that they started selling in the store. As waited the line got longer and as the time came closer for the UFC lightweight champ to arrive, time was standig still. Then you hear Bruddah IZ's voice singing through the DJ system they had set up and you look up and THERE WAS BJ PENN, we started screaming and clapping as the champ posted up behind the counter. Although it was hard for us to talk to him, because the music was so loud, *B* asked him," How can I be a fighter?"
He asked *B* how old he was, to which *B* replied,"I'm 4."
And very enthusiasticly BJ Penn told *B*, "You should start traing right now."
Well, if *B* wants to do it he can. BJ Penn was a very nice guy and seemed to appreciate all his fans. I know I still support him but I do hope he sticks in the weight class that he kicks the most ass in. Anyways, while standing in line we met some nice people, and ran into the infamous and busy Lofa. Also walking around were the guys from Uproar magazine, we might be in the next issue in a pic so check it out. Not much more to say other than BJ Penn is definately a real down to earth guy and we had fun, thanks to BJ Penn dot com, Uproar Magazine, Nordstrom Hawaii, and everyone we met. *L* has left the building and up next we have some jungle fun, shrimping at alamoana, and chuckie.

UFC 96, New Set Up, Future Events...

For the fights this past weekend I decided to test out using my computer to watch the fights and it worked out alright. The set up was easier, the fights were pretty much free, but it was a rainy day and my wireless internet kept acting up. Although I had the problems I did I still would do it again, but not if it a fight that I really want to see.

Man the UFC fights this past Saturday turned out to be pretty decent even though the card was not full of blockbuster names. The fight of the night in my opinion was the Matt brown v. Pete Sell match, the ref jumps in like he was gonna stop the fight after Pete Sell got what looked like a TKO but then he lets the fight commence, and Matt Brown caught the guy again and then was over him for like 5-6 seconds just punching Pete in his head, and finally the ref decided to actually stop the fight. Another good one was watching Matt Hamil kick in the head and K.O. him, for those of you who don't know Hamil is deaf so this is amazing that he is such a strong opponent in the ring. The upset of the night was Gonzaga, dude got knocked the FOOK OUT fast quick and in a hurry (69 sec.) by Shane Carwin's right hand, definitely this was K.O. of the night. Next, Brandon Vera kicked the crap out of Michael Patt's leg, literally, the guy collapsed and had trouble walking. Vera looked good as a light heavy weight, so hope he sticks to it because he could be on his way to living up to what he said about being the best. Also was good to see the Hawaii boy Kendal Grove finally got himself out of his losing funk, he TKO'd Jason Day, but at the end of the fight got a bit too cocky and preformed the Titto Ortiz grave digging. Lastly, the Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson unanimously beat Keith Jardine, the fight was not that exciting, except when Jardine got tired and kicked Jackson in the nuts, but hands down Jackson definitely had Jardine beat. All in all if you can check out the fights because they was good.

Well, the gathering for the fights was not big and we didn't pass on the belt this time but we still had good grinds and spent the time watching the fights with good friends. Was nice to see Kevin, he is the guy to see on the island if you got sell phone probs or wana get hooked up to mobi, and after the fights I gave *B* and his girl Faith the camera and they were taking all kine pics so check it out. *L* has left the building but coming up next....

ICE PALACE!!!

Well, this past Friday I had no school and work, *A* was off, and *B* was sick. Even though *B* was sick I felt that instead of having him lay around at home and soak in his sickness, I wanted him to go and move around, you know get the blood flowing and hanabuddah outta his nose. Thus, I decided to take a trip to Ice palace.

It has been so long since *A* and I last went, I mean like elementry school kine days. Man ice skating is fun, *B* had a little trouble at first but then as the day went on he got braver and even tried to skate by himself around on the big side. Luckally *A* and I never fell and by the end of our 3 hour stint at the palace *B* didn't want to leave.

So, how long has it been since you went to Ice palace? If it has been a long time, you definately should go there, but I do recommend going on a off day and in the morning becasue the crowds at night and on the weekends are horrible, or at least they used to be. Well here is some pics and next up is UFC 96 test run and review. *L* has left the building but be back soon.

Last weekend "I GOT MY LIL WAYNE TICKETS!!!!!" I was happy to get the 12th row for the concert, even though Lofa says you crazy for paying 80 bucks to see the man I had to do it. Well that same weekend on Sunday, we decided to go walk around china town. We left a little late and got there in the afternoon at around 1pm. I never knew that China town closes down around that time. There was nothing but gates closing and the late crowd around the streets. Oh well guess we know better now, get an early start...

No one else on the streets but the cops.

Went here, but the place was closing, everything was getting cleaned up and no one would talk to us

made from a red ale or any tan to red colored beer and a guiness draught style can or bottle beer.
You gotta first pour the tan beer slowly so that the head of the beer does not exist, then get a spoon and hold it over the already poured beer. Next pour the guiness onto the spoon so that the heavy beer spreads across the surface of the lighter beer and creates a layer of black and tan...refer to the pic

This was one of the greatest UFC's ever, no fight went down to decision, except for the main event. I went to my cousins new place, he moved on up, to watch the fights and it was amazin. Was good spendin time with the rest of the fam that of course has been missed by the L*A*B. Super good fights, not real big names faught, so all I will tell you is Kos got TKO'ed and Diego Sanches beat Stevenson by decision, but if you get a chance to watch what happened in the UK at UFC 95 you gotta see it.

THE FIRST CAMP OF 2009

On Feb. 13-16 *A*'s family, *B*, and I went camping at Bellow's beach. It was definitely the longest and coldest camp ever, but a it was a fun one that will forever be remembered. It was so dam cold that *A* was in two jackets every night, *B* was shaking and I had to put on long pants, which usually when we camp I'm in board shorts and and a shirt the whole time. This camp was full of late nights, partying, games, s'mores by the camp fire, and crab hunting.

I don't know what you do when you camp, but *A*'s fam brings the electricity with them, literally, we had a rice cooker, halogen lights, and our phone chargers running off the honda generator and since they got base privilages we were able to take warm showers. Each night we played card games, so next party be ready to drink because we gonna play. Another game we play when we go camping is horse shoes, man that game is fun, but be ready to play for keeps because around her fam i'm the king and always get away with the crown (that's only with her fam, my fam is a different story). Anyways the best part of camping is spending time with family and friends, making new memories and the last day food fight (take the left overs and go for broke), I finally got blessed on this trip.

Well, if you like go camping don't hesitate to call us or come when we go, it's good fun. Now get up, get out, and go camping at bellows or any other place.

Borders books, music, and ART?

Head out to the ward borders and get a book and check out the Triple A show staring Aaron Martin (Angry Woebots), Aaron Lee (Mycryptonauts), and Aaron Yoshino (Honozooloo). Of course you know woes did some nice canvas pieces, you can even see the original painting of his latest Blue Panda print and look at what many have said is one of his dopest collabo pieces. Next up check out the UH professor and king of the cryptonauts Aaron Lee's hand sewn plushies. The quality is super good, the designs are of each of his pieces are on point, and you can actually see the bigger cryptonauts like "Denima" up close. Next check the pica of hawaii's own Honozooloo, who as I said in a previous post has mad skills behind the lens of a camera. The images he took for this show are pretty amazing, I mean I could never capture still life the way he does. Well, go check the show in the stairs if you are in the area, I'm not sure what is for sale but I do know that some of the pieces can be bought. *L* is out til next week, so grab your sweet heart some flowers for V-day this weekend and enjoy the four days off. In An Ocean of Art...

What a way to start out a Saturday night! We got immersed in an under sea world at Prototype in pearlridge. There was fish, other sea creatures floating from the roof of the store, and a giant seahorse greeting you as you enter Prototype. Plus, there was some very nice artwork hanging on the walls, in the show cases and displayed on the show cases of the store. This was an awesome show filled with different mediums of art, there was clocks, bottles, a printed shirt, canvases, and more. The crowd was crazy, the line was out the door, and it was another awesome show put together by another talented Hawaii artist.

Before I go on, let's play a little game.

Luk is what this artist signs on his paintings and on the sketch he did for us at his show, but he is better known by his name that was given to him by some kid after painting in Newkon's studio. Do you know who this is yet? Let me tell you... The Starfish Guy (TSG). Known for painting his starfish character in different colors, settings, doing different things, in costumes, it's pretty much an endless possibility when it comes to his signature character.

He's not limited to just starfish and he is not limited in his skills. He has been doing the painting thing for around 7 years and felt that now he is ready to push forward. TSG is armed with more skillz than napoleon dynamite, he got graf. skills, air brush skills, screen printing skills, web design skills, plushie skills...well you get the picture.

This was our first time meeting TSG and it was nice. He is a down to earth guy with a game plan for the future and he was willing to answer my irritating questions. His artwork is very clean with bold black lines, colorful backgrounds and characters that make ya smile. We were not able to get a canvas at the show, but *A* did buy me a clock that he painted and a shirt. Well, enough of my yammering on and on, just check out the pics and get out and support your local artist's Hawaii.

I'm gonna wrap up and say thanks TSG for the sketch and the chit chat, thanks Prototype for hosting another show, and nice to see ya and catch up that night Kaweeks. Oh What a night!! What can I say about Maresa's BELATED, BELATED, BELATED BIRTHDAY!! No I'm not stuttering, it was a belated, belated, belated birthday party. Remember on Dec.26 the whole island had a black out, well that was our first atempt to go out. Right when we were ready to go, the lights went out, so we stayed home :( !! I guess Maresa blew out her candles too hard. Then we tried two more times to go out but it just didn't work. Finally it came. We decided to party the night away at Board Riders in Kailua. It was a good idea because we got to hear 82-Fifty. What a band, they really brought the house down, they even sang happy birthday to Maresa. I will never forget that night full of laughter, drinks, and good friends. So here is some pic's for you to look at......

Super bowl 2009

It was a great super bowl at the house on Sunday. We had lots of food, a prize to be won after each quarter, and as always good friends and family to celebrate another great event. Of course I was rooting for Arizona because their story was amazing but almost everyone else was riding on the steel train.
First quarter the Steelers offense looked great they moved the ball down the field and in no time scored a field goal. Well looks can be deceiving because at the end of the first the Cardinal defense held the Steelers to just that one field goal...First prize went to...

Now the second half got even more exciting. The Cardinals started to get more comfy and were able to move the ball forward and score a touch down in response to a Steelers TD early in the quarter. The second half also messed up the Cardinals because penalties and a 100 yard defensive TD by James Harrison of the Steelers. I couldn't believe it. One moment it looked like the Cardinals were gonna score, then the next thing you know everyone was jumping yelling GO, GO, GOOOOO, YESSSSS! At the end of the first half the prize went to...

After the second half it was time to watch the three 3-D commercials. We all had our glasses and enjoyed seeing the Sobe Lizards pop out the T.V.

Third quarter was the physical portion of the Super Bowl. The Steelers were only able to score a field goal and Arizona scored nothing. Penelties also plagued both teams and this proved to be a real downer for the Cardinals fans at the house. Third Quarter was when I enlisted Sam Adams to give me support. Anyways at the end of the third the prize went to...

The final quarter of the superbowl is why this game was so good. It seemed almost impossible that Arizona would come back, but that is exactly what happend. Fitzgerald was in full effect and scored two TD's plus Arizona was able to get a safety. This brought them into the lead.

Then Santonio Holmes made an amzing catch to put the Steelers back on top. With only a few seconds left Warner fumbles and the Steelers get the ball back. Then Roethlisberger takes a knee and the game was over. The Steelers went down in history by winning their 6th super bowl, the most in NFL history...

Penn Gives Up, New Champions, Great party

It's official. What you may ask? It is official that I put too much into these fights. So far two of my favorite fighters have gone down. First Wand gets knocked out and then the man that carries a whole state on his back just gave up. I think if he didn't throw in the towel I would be okay, but after the third round the white towel hit the floor and so did I. Man, I was upset and I will be the first to tell you that I did shed some tears for Hawaii's fallen champ. I'm still hopeful that Penn will keep on fighting and dominating the light weight class in UFC. He still is a champ and will still get my support when he fights, I mean the guy made it this far and that's a whole lot for someone from Hawaii to do...

Other than the Penn disappointment there where pretty decent fights on the card. Machida bested Silva by knocking him out in the first round, where does his power come from. I don't like watching Machida but after this he can't be denied a title fight and Rashad might have something to worry about. Next it was good to see one of the cry baby Diaz brothers lose to a cave man. Guida turned up the volume on Nate and ended up getting a decision win. Another highlight was watching UFC new commer Jon Jones do some amazing stuff in the ring, he did a spinning elbow, spinning back kick, he was amazing and got a well deserved victory over Stephan Bonner. All in all the fights were okay until the end.
Well after being disappointed, in the end we had to pass on the belts and I had to mend my wounds with the help of my two friends Sam and Heineken. *A*'s sister is officially the new MMA CHAMPION and the title for having the least amount of points went to mista Donny. After handing out the belts and prizes we played some darts, drank some more and got ready for the super bowl on Sunday. Angry Pandas and Family Time At a Museum

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am an Angry Woebot art fanatic. Since, I have started to collect hoodies, vinyl toys, and art, I have been getting all the Woebot stuff I could.

So, needless to say when I heard he was doing a live mural at the Honolulu Contemporary Art Museum, I had to get out there and see what was going down. After getting lost for an hour and forty-five minutes driving up and down Tantalus, I finally found the museum. I parked and headed down to the Cafe to see what was going on.

I was amazed at what I found. The mural was taking shape right before my eyes. If you have never seen Aaron "Angry Woebots" Martin paint live then you definitely are in for a treat when you do. With just a few paint strokes he changed the whole look of the pandas he was painting. It was good to see him paint live again and it was good to catch up with him especially since a lot is really going on in his life right now.

Also while I was there, I got to meet another talented Aaron that goes by the name of "Honozooloo". Honozooloo is known for his ability to capture life through the lens of a camera. He was real down to Earth, much like most of the 808 artist that I have met, and he even shared the secret behind how he captured some my favorite images from his website.

Well, after the first day of painting was done, it got even better for me. Now you are all gonna think I'm a dork, but I was super stoked to be around and see this. Woeski busted out his famous BEAR SUITE!! I was stoked to see this and was thrilled to see the process Honozooloo goes through in order to capture great images. Now here's some of the pics of the first day...

The next day I took *A* and *B* up to the museum so they could see how beutiful the environment up there was and so we could see how much more Woes had completed. This time I didn't get lost as bad as the first time. Wile up there *B* loved running around in the open field, checking out some of the art pieces and navigating the trails in the garden. *A* and I enjoyed everything we did there too. It was so relaxing for us... except when I had to carry the stroller up and down the steps of the garden trail.

Overall we had a good time and then we had to head back to the house to watch the Affliction fights, which were f-in dope. Check the pics of the 2nd day at the museum...

It's never to late to have a Christmas Party!!

On Jan.19,2009 my co-works and I had our Christmas party. Who said Christmas only has to be in December? We started our night a Buona Sera Restaurant in Kailua next to Cisco's. It was one of the most unusual restaurants that I have ever been to because of the neat wall art.No they didn't decorate the walls with paintings or with half naked people, it was wall to wall old fashioned wine bottles. The wine bottle decor was very cool, but the food was even better. If you like Italian food this is the place to go, but here are some pics so you can see for yourself...

After eating dinner we walked two stores down and had Crepes at Crepes No Ka'oi. You definitely have to go there for dessert. If you do make it to the crepe eatery, you must try the apple cinnamon crepe w/a scoop of vanilla ice cream...It's to die for.
So, the next time your in Kailua I hope you try these places and enjoy what they have to offer as much as I did.

Animals, The Ki's, a Factory, the Beach, topped off with a trip to Yogurtland

A couple weekends ago we decided to let *B* plan the day. That didn't work, so we just packed up a bag to take care of everything, hopped in the car and decided to just park in Waikiki and see what *B* decides to do.
Well, if you didn't guess it yet, we ended up at the Zoo first. We were able to see most of the animals, but since it was the afternoon time all the reptiles were active and the mammals were sleepy. *B* enjoyed taking pictures with his little camera, we did the old school penny racing, used the old spinning doors to exit, and I enjoyed reading all the signs at the Zoo. Next time you go there take time to read some of the signs because some of them are pretty interesting and don't forget to look at the animals too.

After the zoo *B* got hungry so we headed out on the strip and ended up at Cheesecake Factory (Thanks Auntie Val and Uncle Vince). Check it out...

*B* had the mac and cheese and it was awesome.

*A* and I ordered the sampler platter and it was all good but it ended up being too much for the both of us.

along the way to eat we saw this guy who's job is to sweep up the sand on the road. That sucks!

After eating *B* was all excited because he wanted to go to the beach, so of course he got his way and that is how we ended our day in Waikiki...

After drying off and leaving the ki's, we headed on over to Yogurtland. Bruce and Erica first told us about this place, then Jose was talking about when I got my last tattoo done, so we decided to go and find out how good it was for ourselves. They all were right to say that the yogurt was awesome. You serve yourself from a selection of delicious flavors, we tried the green tea, blueberry tart, chocolate, vanilla, cheesecake, pistacio, and all were great. After choosing your flavors you get to put topping on your yogurt. They got a bunch of different syrups, lichee, mochi, crushed almonds, chocolate chips, coconut, strawberries, blue berries, lucky charms cereal, and sooooooo much more. After assembling your yogurt you put your cup on a scale and get charged 39 cents per ounce. It turns out to be alot of yogurt for a small price and the yogurt is very tasty. What a start...wish us luck

It is always hard to say goodbye to a loved one, but when you are surrounded with others that give you support and understand how you feel, it's much easier to cope with a loss. Take care Andra, Eddie and Auntie Joyce. We are still here for you whenever you need, and if we can help...you know we will.

With that said let's get caught up...

First, we had to say goodbye to Uncle Louie. The service was Jan. 3rd on Maui. It was a nice gathering of family and my uncle's friends. He touched a lot of people and those who knew him were saddened by his passing. My two cousin's gave great speeches about their memories with him and my father also said some words to commemorate his bother. It was hard to say goodbye, but everyone held their heads up high, shed a few tears, wished the family good luck and enjoyed the service. Well, goodbye Uncle, R.I.P., you put up a good fight against an unknown diagnosis so you deserve to enjoy your life after death.

We went to Maui for my uncle's funeral by way of the Hawaii Super Ferry. Man it was so nice. The staff was friendly and helpful, the crew is organized and gets everybody on and off as fast as possible. The ride to Maui was just so beautiful, we saw whales and dolphins jumping, the coastline of Molokai and Maui, and the ocean as we leaned over to throw up. I don't suggest using the ferry during the winter when the high seas are ruff, but I do suggest you give the ferry a chance and pay the extra money to upgrade.

The upgrade comes with some free pupu's that they give you along the way, free fountain drinks, and one free premium drink (glass of wine, beer, bottled water). Plus you get access to the front lounge with bigger and more spacious seating. Anyways, just take two Dramamine and use the motion ease the staff gives you, fall asleep through the ruff parts and you will be fine.

We were all fine on the way back because we fell asleep while the ship was big time rockin and slammin into the ocean. On the way there the L*A*B got sick. *A* started the whole thing, then *B* woke up while it was ruff made a mess on his shirt and the staff brought him a free super ferry shirt (lucky kid), and as for me I was fine until I had to walk *A* to the bathroom and out the boat for fresh air. There were bunch of people holding those white bags and a bunch hunched over the rails. All-in-all the trip on the super ferry was awesome and if you want the convenience of your own car, it is well worth the price.

Well, I told you how we got there and a bit of what we did while we were there, but there is more. After saying bye to Uncle Louie, *A* started to feel sick. Then, she was in major pain. I didn't know what to do so at 9pm Sat. the 4th I CALLED AN AMBULANCE!!!

The EMT's came and wheeled her away, the whole time I was panicking and was getting teary eyed seeing the hurt in her face and just seeing her wheeled away into an ambulance. We followed the vehicle and ended up at Maui Memorial Hospital. We all were worried because the way she described her pain made it seem like she could of had appendicitis, but luckily she didn't. The doctor sent here to have a CT scan and finally gave here some pain meds to calm her suffering. Then he told us the results, and said she should be fine after a week (hopefully), but since she was in so much pain he gave her a prescription and at about 1AM were heading back to the hotel. We really have to thank the whole staff that helped us at Maui Memorial Hospital.

WHAT A START, HUH?

Well, as of now *A* is fine and we are ready to get up and move on. School starts next week and if I make it through, then I will finally graduate with my AA and be on my way to getting into the EMT program at KCC (crossing fingers). This is gonna be a busy, but fulfilling year, so wish us luck and we will see ya around town and on the web.

Boy am I glad that 2008 is over. I am sure that 2009 will be good for the fam and good for everyone else. Now, first we want to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone and hope you didn't get hurt popping fireworks. Hope everyone had a good time this year like we did. We had a good amount of fireworks to play with this year and the end of the year extravaganza was pretty nuts this year too.

As another year passes we also say goodbye to my Uncle Louie, we are sure he is in a good place and resting in peace. The year 2009 is a new start and we hope everyone is okay and is ready to enjoy the year to come. We thank everyone for being apart of our lives and giving us such great memories throughout 2008. The L*A*B Fam is ready for '09 and we can't wait to see whats gonna happen this year. Remeber if your down look up because thats the only place you can go after a fall. Anyways, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!

More and More Christmas...

More Christmas? I know it the new year but we still got more christmas. First we went to a brunch at Hanaki in Manoa Shopping Center. It was great, there was plenty of sushi, tempura, and great japanese stuff to eat. I know I ate way too much that day. We exchanged laughs and caught up with *L*'s (my) side of the family. *B* was spoiled of course...check it out

After eating a huge brunch, we headed over to *A*'s sisters for more christmas fun, food, games, and a visit form santa. Maresa did a great job, the house was decorated nicely, the games were well thought out (madgab and a picture game). The party was great and we all enjoyed ourselves.
